Bot

Overview

Bot category verification is a feature that allows you to group and manage specific types of bot traffic.

You can set unique conditions for each category to block, detect, or allow, and traffic is checked in order starting from categories with higher priority.

Usage Examples

Bots are classified into Good Bot and Bad Bot based on their behavior, purpose, and threat level.

info

You can learn about the definition and differences of each bot on the STCLab Blog.

Good Bot (Allow)

Reliable traffic such as internal API monitoring tools or partner traffic can be classified as Good Bot and allowed. (Example: When IP is included in partner IP range)

Suspicious Bot (Detect)

Specific scanner types that frequently attempt abnormal access can be classified as 'Suspicious Bot' and detected. (Example: When IP is included in partner IP range)

Bad Bot (Block)

If malicious behavior is confirmed, it can be classified as 'Bad Bot' and blocked. (Example: When included in known malicious IP range)
